WeatherBox

A dedicated, personal weatherforecasting lab, the Weatherbox is a JAVA-based, desktop remote weather station which operates via Instant Messaging protocol to deliver remote readings of windspeed, wind direction, humidity, temperature, barometric pressure (not shown), rainfall and general weather conditions.

Utilizing the output from a conventional RadioShack Weather Station, located whereever th user chooses, the desktop device updates itself constantly and offers an alternative to calling the manager of the local marina or a neighbor in Vermont to ask if it's going to be a weekendt to go sailing or skiing

Programmed by Dr. Andy Stanford-Clark of IBM in Hursley, England, the WeatherBox is a trademarked patent jointly filed by Dr. Stanford-Clark and Chuck Dorris.
